Ceramics
Goh Beng Kwan has been painting on porcelain since his first visit to the ancient pottery town of Jingdezhen in the early 2000s. Unlike painting with ink or paint on canvas, the quality of a painting on porcelain is at the mercy of many external factors that are outside of our control, included but not limited to the temperature of the kiln. However, as he was accustomed to working with a variety of media, Goh quickly grasped the potentials and limitations of this new medium and adapted his visual language to best showcase his capabilities.
